how are you all this week?? we've been super busy this couple of weeks, yeah its rainy and sunny season here in Cambodia (climate change teh!) .First off, last week is our Zone Conference, but please let me tell you about the story of a Geese i dont know what it is in tagalog basta ganun sya, Geese, V formation, 70% uplift by working together, one goose takes the lead and will fall back when tired and another goose will step in "HONKING is equivalent to cheering each other on,if one goose is sick two geese will fall out of V formation to help.I really love the word ''HONKING'' in the spirit of Honking (cheering each other on).
This week was an awesome week. A week of hard work and great experience, but this week i was really trying to learn what a mission is supposed to do for me, for my family. I thought about what I said a 2-4 weeks ago.A mission isn't just about obedience. Although that is part of it.A mission is preparation for returning home to be changed for the rest of your life. Obedience plays a part of that in learning to submit your will to God. Obedience is important but when a missionary returns those same rules are not going to be there. A missionary gives all of themselves to God. That means letting God mold you. Your desires, dreams, wishes, talents, ect. This is the only way a mission can truly change someone forever. Part of it is giving up the natural man and letting God take over. If I don't give it up I lose and God loses.
In the talk it paraphrases a book written by C.S. Lewis. It says "Paraphrasing C.S. Lewis the Lord says to us: "Give me all. I don't want so much of your time, so much of your talents and money, and so much of your work: I want You. All of you. I have not come to torment or frustrate the natural man, but to kill it. No half-measures will do. I don't want to only prune a branch here and another there; rather, I want the whole tree out. Hand it all over to me, the whole outfit, all of your desires, all of your wants and wishes and dreams. Turn them all over to me, give yourself to me and I will make of you a new self in my image. Give me yourself and in exchange I will give you Myself. My will, shall become your will. My heart, shall become your heart." This is part of it and this isn't the only mission I or any other missionary will ever have. When we return we will be given opportunities to serve in callings. I know it is only through this we can truly get the most from our missions right now! When we fully surrender and let the Lord win and mold us we will one day stand before God and as the scriptures testify we shall see ourselves like our savior Jesus Christ with his image engraven in us.
STAND FOREEVER.E. CORBRIDGE- on lesson is that if you answer the primary question, secondary question doesnt matter. As what our President counsel to us Expect Team Miracles "Act like Geese,Create, Unity, love and care for each other no matter of -ites, and what we do, we do together.
This is my final Honk to each of you Guys! Babye
Love,
Sister Batiles
